near the equator in the pacific, is contributing to the high temeratures. the news comes just as another report published in the scientific journal geophysical research letters bclaims california's four year drought is due ,in part, to man made climate change. the authors assert that 8-27 percent of the precipitation changes in california are the results of global warming caused by people. on thursday california governor jerry brown, who has long pushed for aggressive efforts to confront climate change, said that "new scientific reports now make it crystal clear that climate change is already affecting california and the southwest in the form of higher temperatures and a more devastating drought. it's time for republicans, foot-dragging corporations and other deniers to wake up and take sensible action before it's too late." experts also now saying that there's a a greater than 90% chance that el niño will stick around through the winter and an 85 percent chance with will last until spring 2016. in san francisco, charles
